Pearland's second canine park, Independence Dog Park, opened in November of 2007.
Dog Park Rules
-
The off-leash dog area is for dogs, their handlers and those accompanying them. No other use is allowed.

Dog owners must clean up after their pet.
-
Dogs with a known history of bad behavior are prohibited. Any dog must be removed from the off-leash area at the first sign of aggression.

No animals other than dogs shall be permitted in the area.

Handlers must fill all holes dug up by their dogs under their control. Digging in the sand pit is encouraged.

Dogs must be legally licensed and vaccinated and must be wearing collar with identification at all times.

Puppies under 4 months are prohibited.

It is recommended that animals be spayed and neutered.

No female dogs in heat.

Leaving dogs unattended is prohibited.

Dog owners should carry a leash at all times.

No spiked collars.

Honor other patrons requests regarding their dogs.

Keep the park gate closed at all times.

Equipment is for use by dogs only.

Small dog are "Puppy Park" is reserved for dogs 25 lbs. Small dogs are also allowed in large dog area.

Children 8 and under are not allowed in the off leash area.

Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Handlers must be 16 or older.

All children must be closely supervised.

Dogs should be leashed prior to entering and upon leaving.

Dogs must be under the control of their handler and in view of their handler at all times.

Handlers are responsible for any injuries caused by the dogs under their care.

Handlers are to minimize barking out of courtesy to neighbors and other users of the park.

No food or drinks in glass containers. Training treats are allowed.

Users of this facility do so at their own risk. Neither the county nor the City of Pearland shall be liable for any injury or damage caused by any god n the off leash area. If your dog inflects injury, give your name and number to the other owner before leaving area. Owners are legally and financially responsible for their dog’s behavior.

Park may be closed down for periodic maintenance without notice.
